Build Torbay is funded by Torbay Council’s Towns Fund- awarded in 2020 – which is investing £21.9m in regeneration projects to create spaces to thrive by improving Torquay’s built environment and public realm.
Build Torbay is working with partners to present skills and training opportunities to Torbay residents to enable them to help deliver these new projects, as well as other transformational schemes in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
With 180 different job roles, a variety of entry levels and excellent promotion pathways; the construction industry offers well-paid and reliable careers for Torbay people, enabling them to build a brighter, more sustainable future.

- To reach net zero by 2050, the UK will need to train and employ 350,000 new workers in sustainable construction skills
- 1500 people in Torbay work in construction; around three times as many people will be needed to deliver the pipeline of regeneration projects taking shape over the next decade
- Construction careers offer around 15% higher salaries than average; with excellent career progression
