TDA currently match fund’s the delivery of the Heart of the South West (HotSW) Careers hub, transforming careers education for young people across Torbay.
The Heart of the South West Careers Hub is one of 33 Careers Hubs in the UK, established in collaboration with The Careers and Enterprise Company. The HotSW Careers Hub is delivered by the HotSW LEP, and operates in Torbay and the HotSW areas of Devon, Somerset and Plymouth.
Within Torbay the HotSW Careers hub supports nine local secondary schools and South Devon College, working together with employers, career professionals and the public sector to deliver the six Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring that careers outcomes are improved for all young people.
The HotSW Careers Hub supports local schools and the college to implement high quality careers guidance by matching them with a named volunteer from business, an Enterprise Adviser (EA). Torbay also has a dedicated Enterprise Coordinator to help schools deliver their career programmes, aligning them to the needs of local employers and raising aspirations of the opportunities within Torbay for young people.
