About
Local Community Interest Companies, Turning Heads and Maker Arts, are providing a flexible digital skills programme to:
- improve digital skills for individuals in Torbay
- improve digital skills for individuals to further career choices
- boost core skills and support adults who might be digitally excluded
- supplement local skills need in Torbay
- provide tailored support for those experiencing digital barriers and to raise aspirations and confidence to anyone in Torbay
What will you learn?
This programme is suitable for anyone looking to boost their digital skills, knowledge and confidence using IT. This could be someone looking for a new job or to advance in their career. It could also be someone who would like more confidence using IT in everyday life, such as with online banking, emails and the internet. Participants can also obtain an AQA accreditation through ongoing training and multiple sessions.
Who can take part?
Anybody aged 17+ who lives in Torbay is eligible to be involved. Participants have the flexibility to come once, or weekly if necessary, for more intensive ongoing support.
Training sessions are free and take place in-person at Turning Head’s office on Lime Avenue, Torquay, or Maker Art’s studio on Parkside Road, Paignton. All equipment is provided and adaptive technology is available for those who may find using traditional hardware challenging.
