The Project
Supporting the growth of Torbay’s economy
Claylands Business Park, located just off Brixham Road in Paignton is a seven-acre brown field site which has been regenerated to support the growth of Torbay’s economy.
Torbay Council helped secure £2M Unlocking Growth Fund from the Heart of the South West LEP to get the site ready for development. The site also received an £8M investment by Torbay Council in response to interest from a local manufacturing company.
Benefits
Claylands Business Park now houses a new purpose-built 5,550m² factory for CSS Group, which supplies high-tech parts for aerospace and defence giants including Rolls Royce, and exports to over 25 countries.
The employment space enables a growing manufacturing company to relocate to a larger space and helps to support local growth, create new jobs and boost the local economy.
The site still offers the opportunity for further development of high-quality workspace for expanding business. It can accommodate local expanding businesses and new inward investments that either require industrial, warehousing, or office space.
Claylands Business Park is located close to large scale businesses in Torbay and the South Devon College campus, with other retail and essential facilities nearby. The site is approximately ten minutes from the new South Devon Highway, providing fast access to the M5 and beyond and making Exeter Airport accessible within 30 minutes.
The second phase of the Claylands employment park is currently at the feasibility stage and if approved is expected to be able to provide up to 4,000 square metres / 45,000 square feet of space depending on the final scheme design.
Businesses seeking new workspace for general industrial or office purposes are asked to provide details of their space requirements and to contact us.
